"So, the show’s about your mom?"

"Well, yes. But also no. But... kinda.”

For years, I believed Mom was the "Artist," and I was just "Crafty." My mother is a force of nature. She moved to the woods, built a work of art she calls home, and taught us by example to see everything as potential art.

This show represents my growth as an artist and celebrates the inherited weirdness ingrained in my DNA. It is not a finished body of work, but an iteration of what is to come—imperfect and not without flaws. By pushing collage into digital art, animation, and sculpture, and developing a love for painting, I am moving one step closer to creating the art in my mind without comparing it to "My Mother, the Artist."

I finally trust my own vision. I hope my experiments give you the license to follow whatever creative impulse you receive.
